India short listed 21
candidates for head coach post in BCCI.
BCCI shortlisted 21 applicants for the post of
Head coach for their country cricket council (BCCI) from a pool of 57
applications. A former Indian batsman VVS Laxman is also including the
shortlist. Vacancy for the head coach had been vacant since Ravi Shastri’s
tenure as the team director ended during last T20 world cup series played in
home country.
BCCI has been established a panel to select the
final decision about the head coach this panel also included former captains
like Sachin Tendulkar and Souray Ganguly. Primarily 57 candidates were shortlisted
to 21 on Wednesday. And next process of selecting coach will be review by an
advisory committee comprising former players and captains.
They cannot share name of shortlisted to anyone.
Because they are effected to fare selection process. Ravi Shastri (former
indian director, Anil Kumble (former captain) Sandeep Patil and Stuart Law (Ex
Bangla dash coach) has confirmed that they have applied for the post. One of
the Key Qualification that they have provided their services at international
level. And they are also preferred through a assessment program conducted by
any of the full member countries and currently possess such a valid
certification.
Kumble has a vast experience as an international
player but in administration he does not meet according the requirements.
Shirke did not comments on this. He said It is advisory committee to
shortlisted candidates they have liberty to decide. It is understood they a
final shortlisted of candidates will be asked to appear for interviews before
the BCCI to final selection. Infact Indian Cricket advisory committee have
establish a process of fare selection for the head coach and other
administration in Indian cricket Board. And they will have to decided up to 22 June 2016.
