History of T20 Cricket and T20 World Cup

At the time of year 1998 to 2001 was can be traced back as the time of origin of Twenty20. It was the year 2001 that the idea of a shortened cricket who discussed by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). This concept of 40 over games was presented by the Chairman of County Cricket in same year. At this time total 18 teams voted 11 teams in the favor and other 7 teams against this format. Soon the new game of this form named Twenty20 which has most popular by the name of T20.

First Twenty20 cricket tournament was organized by England with various county teams. Soon this Twenty20 cricket tournament it was overnight success South Africa, Australia, and West Indies, and these countries also held this type of cricket tournaments. In 2005 it became the part of International Cricket Council (ICC). First international match played between Australia and New Zealand at Eden Park.

The popularity of this tournament ICC organized the first T20 World Cup in 2007 which host by South Africa and India won 1^st T20 World Cup. After that in 2009 T20 World Cup who was host by England, Pakistan won 2^nd T20 World Cup. In 2010 West Indies host 3^rd T20 World Cup which was won England. In 2012 4^th T20 World cup host by Sri Lanka and that won West Indies. In 2014 Bangladesh host the 5^th T20 World Cup and Sri Lanka won this title. And now coming some days India host 6^th T20 World Cup. This T20 World Cup schedule from 8^th March    and will continue to 3^rd April 2016 in India. 

Pakistan won the T20 World Cup of 2009 in leading of Younis Khan. It was the great historical memory in history of Pakistan after the 1992 World cup. Pakistani Teams and Pakistani people was very excited after this great victory. But after this Pakistani teams go down to down day by day. Pakistan played Total 102 T20 Matches. Pakistan won 59 matches lost 40 matches tie 1 match and tie (L) 1 match. Pakistan winning percentage is 59.31%.
