Roger Federer Promises to comeback t challenge for
US open 2016:
Federer said he will come back to the US open in
2016 wither he is losing Sundays final to the Novak Djokovic. Federer who will
be 35 in next year, won his last title of five in New York back in 2008. But at
the presentation ceremony, he had no intention of following women’s champion
lavia Pennetta by announcing retirement. He said “I am very pleased with where
my game is at, and who won the most recent of his 17 majors at Wimbledon in
2012. I feel like it has moved in the right direction. I am back in the final
for the first time since 2009. I love the sport. I have got a lot of passion.
One last thing. Will see you guys next year. ” He was bidding to become the
oldest champion in New York sine 35 year old Ken Rosewall in 1970. But he failed
to breach Djokovic’s formidable defensive skills, managing to convert just four
of 23 break point opportunities. He has also strong together 28 consecutive
sets in a run stretching back to the Wimbledon final I July which he also lost
to Djokovic. Federer as he is world No 2 still believes he can still punch his
weight at the highest level with his five tour titles so for in 2015 only
serving to boost his confidence.
“I am very disappointed. I had my chances of my
racquet I should ever been down in the score the way I was,” said the Swiss.
“But the Novak did a great job of finding them off. It was a tough night.
However I am playing good tennis. I am happy wit was my level is at. I am able
to beat the best player regularly.”
Federer said his success at the Cincinnati masters
on the eve of the US open convinced him that he still have enough left in the
tank. It was his seventh triumph in the American Midwest achieved by beating
Andy Murray and Djokovic in the semifinals ad final respectively. Cincinnati
was a great feeling beating the world No 1 in the same week. I do not think I
have done that before” I did win my tournaments, the once I was supposed to.
Years not over yet. I usually do have a strong finishes to the season, and I
hope I can do that again.
He has perfected his game of the hard courts. He
was always a great clay court player, and because he will as well as he does,
he’s solid now on the grass. He is got to stay healthy and hungry, but obviously
you would think he will win more.
